Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1:
Welcome to the Wild
On the first day of your Pantanal safari tour, our friendly guide will welcome you right at the airport. Then, you’ll set off on a scenic drive along the legendary Transpantaneira Highway. This road is known for its wooden bridges and the incredible wildlife that lines its edges.
You must keep your eyes open for marsh deer, capybaras, caimans, and colorful birds as you make your way deeper into jaguar country.
After a relaxing stop for lunch, you'll continue toward Porto Jofre and will arrive at your riverside eco-lodge by late afternoon or early evening. Tomorrow, the real tracking begins.
Day 2:
Exploring Jaguarland
On the second day, you will head out for your first full day on the river. You will set off into the heart of Jaguarland, the Encontro das Águas region while boarding a private safari boat.
Here you will find the highest concentration of wild jaguars on Earth. Then, you’ll pause for a picnic-style lunch right on the river.
After a short break, you will enjoy more tracking, photography opportunities and unexpected wildlife encounters. After that, you’ll return to the lodge for a relaxed dinner and peaceful sleep.
Day 3:
Exploring Deeper Waters
By now, you would have settled well into the rhythm of the Pantanal so today let's take you even deeper. After breakfast, you’ll return to the water to focus on exploring more remote areas of the river. These quieter spots are where jaguars feel most at home and are much more peaceful.
Here you might catch jaguars behaving more naturally like walking, swimming or even hunting.
Along the way, you can keep watch for other animals too, like tapirs, monkeys, and more amazing birds. As always, lunch is enjoyed on the boat. You will return in the late afternoon. Have another hearty meal in the evening and reflect on all you’ve seen.
Day 4:
The Golden Hours of the Pantanal
You'll start your morning early and will head out just as the sun begins to rise. This golden hour is a dream for photographers as it offers warm lighting and increased wildlife movement.
During midday, depending on conditions and your energy, you can enjoy a riverside lunch in a shaded spot.
In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the water for another session of wildlife tracking. You will be amazed to witness incredible moments like jaguars cooling off in the river, giant otters hunting in packs or caimans basking in the last sunlight.
By sunset, you’ll be heading back to the lodge with memory cards full.
Day 5:
One Last Look
Your last day begins with an early morning boat safari. This is the final chance to spot a jaguar or enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Pantanal at sunrise. These quiet hours are perfect for soaking in your last moments in the wild. After returning to the lodge, you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast and pack up your things.
Then, it’s time to begin your journey back to Cuiabá. After a fantastic drive along the Transpantaneira Highway, you will arrive at the airport with incredible memories.
Day 6:
Farewell to the Wild
Your final morning begins early with a peaceful sunrise safari. This last outing is all about soaking in the stillness of the Pantanal. If you’re lucky, you'll catch one more glimpse of a jaguar or a family of giant otters starting their day.
After breakfast back at the lodge, we began the journey to Cuiabá. Along the Transpantaneira, there’s still a chance to spot wildlife before your adventure officially ends. We’ll ensure your transfer to the airport is smooth and on time.
